UNOFFICIAL RULES

1.  Do not throw beer cans, bottles or anything else at passing motor vehicles. No matter how irritating, remember a wheeled vehicle is a much more stable gun platform than a horse. DO NOT SHOOT AT PASSING VEHICLES. For most caliber weapons on the trail ride, a motor vehicle might as well be armored... you and your horse are NOT. Besides, drawing fire on yourself AND/OR your fellow riders might cause you to receive "unfriendly fire" from both sides.

2.  Do not poke or tease other riders horses. You will get the hell kicked out of you or the snot beaten out of you. If they get thrown, you might get shot.

3.  Firearms should not have a bullet in the chamber. Remember, shooting your own horse was the greatest cause of death in mounted cavalry. And besides .... (see Rule # 4)

4.  Accidental discharge of firearms is discouraged. You might accidently shoot another rider. Worse yet, you might not kill them, in which case, they and their family will not fail in your case.

5.  Please do not shoot at local pets along the ride, no matter how irritating. Their owners might shoot back .. worse yet ... they might miss you but not other riders. (see Rule#4)

6.  Do not get "smart" and cause your horse to step on local pets along the ride. This is cheating. Besides, the yelping and screeching of a mashed pet is unnerving to some horses and riders. And again, may draw fire from the owners.

7. Remember the "golden rule" of the trail ride - make your words to other riders sweet and polite or you might have to eat them later... along with one or more bullets. Even worse .. they know where you sleep. You don't want to be all warm and snuggly on a frosty night only to find out the heat is from your tent burning.

8.  Please do not use whips on the ride. Save them for your spouse, kids or horses later that night at camp.

9. QUIET AFTER 10 PM IN CAMP!! No whip cracks, screams (of joy or otherwise), cries of "whatever", loud music, beating unruly horses or children, loud talking or any other noises that might irritate other riders. Such noises tend to draw criticism and/or gunfire.
